Chapter 1

Prayers in Mosque
City of Karbila at dusk
Slowly zoom in through window of a madrisih where Shaykh Ahmad speaks to his disciples.
Shaykh Ahmad speaks about advent of Promised One
Yazd – Shaykh Ahmad speaks with ‘Abdu’l-Vahhab, whose face lights up as a result of receiving joyful message
Haji Hasan-I-Nayini telling Mirza Mahmud-I-Qamsari about the dawn of divine guidance breaking on that day (November 12, 1817)
Siyyid Kazim arrives in Yazd from Rasht and attends lecture of Shaykh Ahmad
Shaykh Ahmad welcomes him personally – “I welcome you, O my friend! How long and how eagerly have I waited for you to come…” (p.10)
Narration regarding the relationship of the two as we see S. Kazim and others enthralled with S. Ahmad
S. Ahmad advises S. Kazim to instruct his disciples and alludes to his successorship: “Remain in your house and cease attending my lectures…(pp. 10-11)
S. Ahmad arrives at Tehran and his spirit is moved, bows his head in prayer
S. Ahamd leaves Karbila for Mecca and Medina. His departing words to S. Kazim narrate in the background (p. 16).

Siyyid Kazim addresses his followers to arise: “Would that one amongst you…” (p. 19)
Mulla Husayn joyously springs to feet. End scene.
M. Husayn enters Madrisih of Siyyid Muhammad-I-Baqir-I-Rashti in Isfahan
Mulla Husayn presses the urgency of his mission to the Siyyid and impresses him, wins his support: “I cannot but deplore such silence…” (p. 21)
Back to Karibila where the Bab attends lectures of S. Kazim who makes allusion to Him but no one realizes (p. 27). We see three disciples’ ambitious nature exposed.
M. Husayn determinedly journeys to Mashad as Siyyid Kazim narrates the features and characteristics of the Promised One (p. 25)
Return to Karbila where droves are slaughtered, even in the Shrines, by the government. People flee for safety to house of S. Kazim.
S. Kazim addresses His disciples to scatter abroad, etc. Mention of 1st and 2nd trumpet blast.
S. Kazim Leaves for pilgramage, meets Shepard who describes a dream he has which S. Kazim interprets as signifiying end of his time is near. End scene….
